What is a Strapless Bra?  

A bra constructed so it stays in place without straps over the shoulder. This bra style is mostly worn with strapless tops, evening gowns, or tops where the traditional style bra straps would show. A strapless bra may be constructed in many different ways; the commonality between styles is the lack of straps. They may have padded cups or underwire for additional support. Strapless bras typically have wider sides to help them stay up without needing straps. Many styles will have silicone gripper elastic adhered to the upper edges to better hold the bra in place. They can have convertible bra qualities: removable straps that can be attached in traditional, crossback, or even asymmetrical styles. A strapless bra should be purchased in your true bra size. Its fit is the ultimate test that you are in the correct bra size. If it does not fit, your bra size probably needs adjusting as well.
