Catherine Malandrino is a designer of Italian descent who was born in Grenoble, France. Having worked in the couture houses of Louis Feraud and Emanuel Ungaro, she brought a multitude of feminine strengths to the fashion world. For her design inspiration, Ms. Malandrino blended the timeless style of Paris with the romanticism of Provence, and the high energy chic of New York City. She presented her own first designer collection in 1998, and was soon profiled in Vogue magazine. Her collections were featured in Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus. The first Catherine Malandrino boutique was built in Soho, and is now sold worldwide. The designer line includes ready-to-wear, accessories, and now at HerRoom, beautiful, timeless sleepwear.
In 2001, Catherine Malandrino's Flag collection became a fashion sensation, and was seen worn by Meryl Streep, Halle Berry, Katy Perry and many other celebrities. She collaborated with Mary J. Blige on the MoMA fashion show in 2010. Although Ms. Malandrino stepped down as creative director in 2013, her design aesthetic continues and flourishes unabated.
