Knit cotton has a softer feel than woven cotton, and it has a much higher stretch capacity. The trouble with 100% cotton fabric is that -while it can stretch for a comfortable fit- it doesn't retain it's shape. Over one day's wear a knit cotton boxer brief can feel like it's doubled in size and just become a droppy, baggy mess that offers no fit or hold and bunches uncomfortably underneath your jeans or pants. Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Polo Ralph Lauren, Fruit of the Loom, Dockers, and Nautica all make 100% Cotton boxer briefs, but most men's underwear manufacturers make their boxer briefs with a cotton blend fabric. The introduction of a stretch material -such as spandex or lycra or elastane- helps the boxer brief give you the same fit the entire day. These cotton blend fabrics are usually made of more than 90 percent cotton, so you don't really sacrifice the soft feel of knit cotton for a better fit. Knit cotton boxer briefs are probably the most versatile of all men's underwear when it comes to the variety of features that you can choose from. Knit cotton boxer briefs can be flyless or have fly-fronts. They can have a contour pouch or just be a regular flat front boxer brief. They can come in big and tall sizes and in multi packs of 2, 3, or 4. You can even get performance wicking properties from knit cotton-blend fabric thanks to tasc Performance sportswear. Everything you could want in a boxer brief can be found in the knit cotton category.
